An influencer’s boyfriend has died one month after she collapsed and passed away from “bootleg whiskey” spiked with methanol at a birthday party.
Fridman Gustavo Amorim Brito spent 29 days fighting for his life after drinking the same drink that killed his girlfriend Yasmin Ângela.
Yasmin fell violently ill immediately after drinking whiskey at a party in Bahia, north east of Brasilia, Brazil.

She collapsed and died, becoming the first confirmed fatality of the methanol tainted batch.
Brito and a 21-year-old female friend, who had also consumed the drink, were rushed to hospital, as reported by Need To Know.
Both received an antidote, but while the young woman recovered and was discharged days later, Brito remained in a critical condition.

Doctors fought to stabilise him for nearly a month, but he died from methanol poisoning on Wednesday (10 Dec).
Authorities say the suspected bottle of whiskey, reportedly purchased in São Bento do Una, in the countryside of Pernambuco, has been seized and sent for forensic analysis.
The Pernambuco State Secretariat of Social Defense confirmed on November 18 that four cases linked to the same region were caused by methanol poisoning, according to the Toxicology Laboratory of the Scientific Police.
The investigation into the source of the counterfeit whiskey is ongoing.
