A 29-year-old model has tragically died of cancer just one year after being diagnosed.
Chloe “Coco” Korouyu passed away in the early hours of Thursday (22 Jan), as confirmed by her younger brother in a post to her tens of thousands of followers.
Coco had already beaten the odds several years ago after her first serious and life-threatening health issue.

In 2021, she sought medical attention after experiencing blurred vision and was stunned when doctors discovered a nearly 10cm tumour in her brain.
It was diagnosed as fibrous dysplasia, a rare benign bone condition in which abnormal fibrous tissue replaces healthy bone, weakening it.
She successfully underwent brain surgery to remove the tumour.
Years later, one day in early 2025, she suddenly developed chest pain and shortness of breath, went into cardiogenic shock, and lost consciousness.

Rushed to hospital, tests revealed a 6cm-by-8cm tumour in her chest, pressing on her heart and invading the right atrium.
She underwent the second major surgery of her life and was diagnosed with angiosarcoma, a rare cancer that originates in the cells lining blood or lymph vessels.
By the end of last year, Coco had undergone 28 rounds of chemotherapy, as reported by Need To Know.
Despite the treatment, which caused her to lose her hair, she remained remarkably positive.
While receiving care in Taipei, Taiwan, in October, she told her followers how she “broke down in tears…because I knew this was a road with no end”.

“The doctor looked at me and said, ‘You are now a ticking time bomb,’” she revealed.
Yet she ended the post on a hopeful note: “If today were the last day of my life, I would still choose to love, to be grateful, and to remember the pain and warmth carried by every breath.
“Because that means I am still alive. As long as I am still breathing today, today is a gift.”
Coco described herself online as a model, freelancer, and “someone who has had surgery on both the brain and the heart”.
Her brother has promised her friends and fans that he will share information about her funeral in a later post.
