A mother-of-four was tragically killed after colliding with a bin lorry.
Maria Luisa Valiani was driving a Jeep Renegade when, for reasons still under investigation, she reportedly rear-ended a waste collection truck travelling in the same direction.
Immediately after the collision, a healthcare worker stopped to provide first aid.

With the help of a passer-by, she began resuscitation manoeuvres while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
Despite repeated attempts by the responders, nothing could be done – Luisa’s injuries were too severe.
The horrific accident occurred on the road connecting Casarano and Taurisano, in Italy’s Apulia region, on Tuesday (3 Feb) morning.
On prosecutors’ orders, the vehicles involved were seized and the victim’s body was taken to the morgue.
Luisa, 41, was the mother of four children, aged 20, 17, 16, and eight.
Photos on social media suggest she had three boys and a girl.
Originally from nearby Aradeo, she was deeply involved in social work, as reported by Need To Know.
A post shared by her daughter in 2023 read: “Best wishes, Mum. To you, who also fills the role of a father.”
Aradeo mayor Giovanni Mauro paid tribute: “The entire community stands with her family and children, sharing their grief and shock at such an unjust and sudden loss.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy go to her mother, Tonia, who also served our community as a councillor, and to the Commander of the Local Police, who was closely related to Luisa.
“To them, and to all her family, we extend the support of the Municipal Administration and the entire town.”
