A Fast & Furious star has announced he is bravely battling stage-three cancer.

Actor Tony Jaa was first diagnosed with stage-three gallbladder cancer – verging on stage four – in June 2024.

The 50-year-old has never spoken publicly about his illness, though fans noticed he looked thinner in recent photos.

Sources close to the stuntman revealed he sought medical attention after suddenly experiencing severe abdominal pain.

He underwent surgery almost immediately to remove the tumour, followed by a lengthy course of chemotherapy.

By the end of last year – around the time he briefly became a monk – his cancer markers had temporarily stabilised.

But the reprieve was short-lived.

During a routine check-up after leaving the monastery, doctors found his markers rising again.

Friends felt compelled to speak out after some fans speculated that his gaunt appearance was due to drug use or HIV.

They confirmed it was entirely the result of intensive treatment, as reported by Need To Know.

Thai actor Jaa rose to fame with the “Ong-Bak” Thai martial arts action film series.

He broke into Hollywood with films including “Biker Boyz” and 2015’s “Furious 7”, where he famously shared screentime with the late Paul Walker, showcasing his extraordinary Muay Thai skills.

In his latest social media posts, he has been promoting his new project, “One More Round” – a possible veiled reference to his ongoing battle with cancer.

Since the news broke, fans worldwide have flooded him with messages of support.
