An Olympic medallist and OnlyFans creator has been provisionally suspended from competition over alleged “whereabouts failures”.
Pole vaulter Alysha Newman, who turned to the X-rated platform to supplement her income in 2024, was issued with a Notice of Allegation by the Athletics Integrity Unit on Tuesday (3 Feb).
Whereabouts failures are recorded when athletes fail to properly submit accurate location details, preventing anti-doping officials from locating them for testing.

They can also be issued if an athlete is unavailable at the specified location during their designated 60-minute testing window, known as a missed test.
Athletics Canada said in a statement yesterday (4 Feb) that it was aware of Newman’s provisional suspension, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson said: “While Athletics Canada provides ongoing guidance and reminders to athletes on the requirements for declaring whereabouts, the athlete is ultimately responsible for providing the information in a timely manner as required.
“This is an unfortunate situation, Athletics Canada hopes to see Alysha Newman back as part of our National Team Program when she is eligible.”
Newman, 31, is an Olympic bronze medallist and Commonwealth Games champion.
She holds both the Canadian national and Commonwealth Games records in the women’s pole vault.
She won bronze at the 2024 Summer Olympics and gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and has represented Canada at three Olympics – 2016, 2020 and 2024.
Her bronze in Paris made her the first Canadian woman to win an Olympic pole vault medal, while her 4.85m clearance also set a new national record.
Originally from London, Ontario, Newman was included in Maxim’s Hot 100 list in 2021.
During the 2024 Summer Olympics, she was among several athletes who turned to OnlyFans to supplement their income, charging subscribers £9.55 ($12.99) a month.
She told the Associated Press at the time: “I never loved how amateur athletes can never make a lot of money. This is where my entrepreneurial skills came in.”
