Protesters have been spotted taking over The British Museum, waving a Palestinian flag and shooting confetti.

Footage shows the members chanting inside the building from a balcony as museum goers watch on.

The group held up a sign that read: “British Museum Racist Colonial Institution.”

The protest comes just days after it was reported that the word “Palestine” was removed from certain displays at the museum.

However, the British Museum denied the reports on 16 Feb.

A British Museum spokesperson said: “It has been reported that the British Museum has removed the term Palestine from displays.

“It is simply not true.

“We continue to use Palestine across a series of galleries, both contemporary and historic.”

Members of the public were left stunned by the protest.
