The dishevelled director straightened his clothes as the woman apparently knocked a mobile phone out of his hand.
The alleged altercation took place at the Prev Minas Vida funeral home in the town of Nova Serrana, north of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday (30 Mar).
The director said he was preparing the body of a deceased 59-year-old man who had a funeral plan with the company.
But when saw the condition of the body, he noticed it was very swollen and would not fit into the allocated casket.
As a result, he contacted the family to ask for an additional amount to be paid to the plan, as reported by Need To Know.
But relatives disagreed with the extra fee and became enraged.
As a result, a 47-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman went to the funeral home to confront the director.
After the alleged assault, he arranged for the body to be sent back to the local morgue and the family hired the services of another funeral company.
He also called the police after suffering a cut to his face.
He said his mobile phone was smashed in the altercation and that at least four coffins crashed to the floor.
The deceased’s sister told the police that she suffered bruising to her arm.
