A model has been hospitalised after popping a pimple on his lip area.
Willian Silva, who refers to himself as a ‘human Ken doll’, raised awareness about the need for special skincare in the area between the eyebrows and mouth, known as the ‘death zone’ of the face.
The model, who boasts 113,000 Instagram followers, required hospital treatment after squeezing a pimple in his moustache area.

Willian, who comes from the city of Campo Grande (CG) in Brazil, posted a video warning his followers about the infection that arose after manipulating the pimple and plucking an inflamed hair.
The influencer, known online as ‘Ken de CG’, said: “Because of this pimple, my face ended up swollen like this.
“There was a risk of getting meningitis that could attack the brain.
“And with that, I could have serious damage to my health, like irreversible brain damage.
“As an influencer, I feel I have the right to come here and make you aware that this zone of the face is very dangerous.”
He added: “I almost kicked the bucket because I squeezed a pimple!”
According to dermatologist Daniele Cavalcante de Almeida Magnani, the area that extends from the eyebrows to the corners of the mouth, passing through the nose and upper lip, is called the ‘zone of death’ and can lead to infections directly affecting the brain.
She said: “The veins in this region don’t have valves and connect to the cavernous sinus, inside the skull.
“This allows a skin infection to reach internal structures.”
She added: “When you squeeze a pimple, the skin breaks and facilitates the entry of bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, into deeper layers.”
The greatest risk is cavernous sinus thrombosis, where the infection forms a clot that can develop into meningitis, brain abscess, or even sepsis, a serious condition that can lead to death.
Picking at pimples can also leave permanent scars, cause folliculitis, and form new abscesses, as reported by Need To Know.
To avoid complications, it is recommended not to manipulate inflamed lesions, especially in this area of the face.
Ideally, you should see a dermatologist if you experience pain, intense redness, or if the lesion does not improve within a few days.
Willian is now recovering well and has already been booked to appear on several Brazilian TV shows to warn others about the dangers of popping pimples.
