A woman inadvertently ended up parking inch-perfectly between two other vehicles after losing control of her car following a collision.
CCTV footage shows a second vehicle clipping the rear of Ana Beatriz Godoy’s car as she drove through a junction, sending her swerving to the right.
After hurtling through the entrance to a car dealership, she slammed on the brakes, bringing her car to a halt as it squeezed into an impossibly tight gap between two parked vehicles – without hitting either of them.
The astonishing accident happened in Bauru, Brazil, on Tuesday afternoon (18 August), as reported by Need To Know.
Welton Menezes dos Santos, the dealership’s manager, told local media that crashes are common at the junction and described Ana’s narrow escape as a “miracle”.
He said: “She came in sideways, hit the entrance sign, and when I saw the car coming into the dealership out of control, I thought, ‘Oh my God, that’s it, everything inside here is finished.’
“She stopped just three fingers away from the car and didn’t hit the other one. And thank God she didn’t hit anyone either, because there’s a bus stop right there.
“There are often lots of people standing around chatting by our gate. She didn’t hit anyone there or anyone inside the dealership, and she didn’t hit any of the cars either, thank God.”
The female driver who clipped the rear of Ana’s car is believed to have been at fault after allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign.
Neither she nor Ana was injured, and both cars sustained only minor damage. However, Ana was visibly shaken after the ordeal.
After regaining her composure, she joked to local media: “I can’t even parallel park, let alone park like that.”
She added that she believed a nightmare may have saved her, explaining: “Three months ago, I had a dream that I lost control of the car.
“So every time I got in the car, I remembered that I had to brake.
“In the dream, I couldn’t stop, I went up onto the pavement and completely lost control. Right at the end, when I was about to hit a wall, I remembered that I had to brake.
“When the crash happened, the dream suddenly came back to me, and that’s what made me remember to brake.”
