A “kind and caring” 20-year-old has died after being hit by a car while cycling home from work.

Trizain Meyler was riding his pedal-assist bike along Blyth Road, Harworth, Notts, when he was struck.

Despite the best efforts of emergency workers, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trizain, who lived in Harworth, had been travelling towards the village from Blyth Services, where he worked at Costa, as reported by Need To Know.

His cousin, Mia Proctor, described him in a public tribute as a “beautiful soul” and a “true angel”.

She wrote: “My beautiful little cousin, who was truly a gift from God and a blessing to this world, was taken from us far too soon.

“You were such a beautiful soul and a true angel, Trizzy.

“You will never, ever be forgotten.

“I love and miss you more than words could ever explain.

“Until we meet again, fly high angel.”

A public fundraiser says he was hit from behind while riding home from work and suffered a fatal head injury.

It describes him as a much-loved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend.

The appeal reads: “He was kind, caring and full of life, with a contagious laugh and a huge love for the people around him.

“His family, cousins and friends meant the world to him, and he also played a big part in the lives of his girlfriend and her son.

“He lived life to the full and had so many plans for the future.

“He was a good soul and it feels so heartbreaking for his life to be cut short at just 20 years old.”

Trizain had autism and sometimes struggled with communication and connecting with his peers while growing up.

However, his family said he overcame those difficulties and grew into a confident young man who enjoyed meeting new people.

He attended college and trained as a barber, a skill which he was extremely proud of.

Trizain was also passionate about animals, writing and making music, travelling and visiting new places.

He had begun planning for the next decade of his life and wanted to learn about trading, buying and selling and the stock market.

His mother said in a tribute released by Nottinghamshire Police: “Trizain was such a positive, kind and caring young man.

“He was considerate of the people, animals and the world around him and he never judged a single soul.

“He was very family-oriented and had enough love in him to make a difference in this world.”

She said his bike had brought him happiness and freedom and he would ride whenever he had the opportunity.

She added: “His laugh was contagious, his loyalty was solid and he had a strength about him that meant he didn’t let things get him down.

“Every hour my boy spent on this earth, he made me proud.

“For all the struggles he came through, he still managed to fit so much into such a short life.

“My son had so much potential and so much more he had planned to do.

“His zest for life showed in the strength and determination he put into everything he did.

“He really did live his life and there was still so much more of it he should have had.”

The fatal collision happened at approximately 2am on 19 August.

The driver stopped at the scene and has been assisting Nottinghamshire Police with its investigation.

No arrests have been made.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than £2,200 towards its £5,500 target to help pay for Trizain’s funeral.
