A 21-year-old influencer has been shot dead in the street just days after being released on bail.
Evelyn Lima Dantas was shot dead on the pavement outside a house in the early hours of Wednesday (16 September).
She had been on provisional release since 9 September after being remanded in custody on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a retired police sergeant.

Antônio Anildo Alves da Silva, 56, was killed in July as he left a supermarket.
Evelyn was remanded in custody after allegedly providing logistical support for the murder.
During the operation linked to the killing, Evelyn was also arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after officers found marijuana and cocaine in her possession.

Two firearm magazines were also seized, as reported by Need To Know.
In the moments before her own killing in Mãe do Rio, Brazil, a car stopped outside the property where she was with her father, and at least two people entered.
They allegedly forced her father to remain on the floor before dragging Evelyn outside and shooting her multiple times on the pavement.
The attackers then spray-painted “TCP” – short for “Terceiro Comando Puro”, a criminal faction originating in Rio de Janeiro – on the front of the building.
Police were called after locals heard several gunshots, but by the time officers arrived, Evelyn was already dead on the pavement and the suspects had fled in the car.

Evelyn lived in Mãe do Rio and had more than 24,000 followers on social media before her profile was deactivated.
She used the account to post photos and videos of trips and outings, beauty content, and moments from her everyday life with family and friends.
Police are now appealing for anonymous tips that could assist the investigation.
Detectives have so far remained tight-lipped about whether Evelyn’s killing could be connected to the retired policeman’s murder.
