A family is grieving the “heartbreaking and tragic” loss of a beloved rugby star who died suddenly aged just 21.
Danny Durbin was remembered as a fantastic player as well as extremely popular and well loved.
The cause of his death has not been revealed, but it has caused shock
at Avonmouth Old Boys RFC in Bristol.

The club said Danny had gone through its mini and junior system before progressing to the seniors, where he made appearances for the third, second and first teams, as reported by Need To Know.
An Avonmouth Old Boys RFC spokesperson said: “It is with a heavy heart that we are to inform our members and friends of the sudden and tragic loss of former player and teammate Danny Durbin.
“At this time, as a club, we would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the Durbin family.
“Danny was a fantastic player who came up through our mini/junior system before breaking into the senior section, making appearances in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st XV.
“He was an extremely polite, popular and well-loved character throughout his playing days at Avonmouth Old Boys and someone many of our current seniors will have fond memories of.”
Danny’s family has been involved at the club for more than 30 years, with his dad Lee currently serving as club vice chairman.
The spokesperson added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Lee, Laura, Zak and the rest of the family at this terribly sad time.”
According to LinkedIn, Danny worked as an events director in Bristol.
A fundraiser organised by Hayley Bennett said he had been taken far too soon, with his whole life still ahead of him.
She said: “At just 21, Danny should have had so many more years, memories and moments ahead of him.
“He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and everyone whose life he touched.
“Please keep Lee, Laura, Zak and all those who loved Danny in your thoughts.
“No family should have to face the unimaginable pain of losing someone they love while also worrying about the financial burden of a funeral.
“We would like to help ease some of the pressure on Lee, Laura and Zak, giving them the time and space to grieve and to give Danny the beautiful send-off he deserves.
“Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help towards Danny’s funeral costs and mean so much to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
