A man who has ‘double lips’ has revealed the harsh nicknames he’s been called by strangers online – and is often asked if he’s using a joke filter.
When Jack Price Provencher posted a simple video on Instagram, he didn’t expect to get an influx of comments about one particular part of his body.
His lips.

Now, he’s been inundated with comments from people saying his mouth looks like it has “teeth curtains” or “clitorlips” – even some viewers question whether he’s using a joke filter.
The strangest thing for Jack, though, is that he never realised his lips weren’t “normal” until posting the video.

And he’s been left navigating having a visible difference.
“I can feel the additional tissue, but because I’ve always had it, it feels completely normal to me,” the 33-year-old company founder told Need To Know.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve had what is described as a ‘double lip’.

“Essentially, there is an additional fold of normal tissue on the inside of my lips, which becomes particularly visible when I smile or talk.
“It isn’t the result of filler, surgery or anything I’ve had done – it’s simply how my lips developed.”
Jack, who posted the video in May 2026, claims he doesn’t remember his lips attracting much attention before then.
He said: “It started when I put my face in front of a camera.

“In person, they don’t seem to stand out nearly as much as they do in close-up videos.
“Suddenly, when that video went viral, thousands of strangers had something to say about my appearance.
“Apart from the name-calling, people ask whether it hurts or why I’ve not had it surgically removed.
“Some people are kind or simply curious, while others are deliberately cruel.
“Some of the genuinely creative comments make me laugh, but others are designed to embarrass me.

“Those can still sting occasionally.
“And the most frustrating part is when the comments completely overshadow what I’m actually trying to discuss.
“People become so focused on my lips, they stop listening to the message.”
Jack owns the brand, The Low Carb Co, which creates superfood snacks.
He began the venture after his own diagnosis with type one diabetes, hypothyroidism and Addison’s disease in a bid to feel his ‘best’ – through what he puts into his belly.
His mission, though, is often lost on viewers who can only focus on his cosmetic difference.
Jack, who lives with his wife, Olivia, 30, in Toronto, Canada, has chosen not to let people’s words impact his actions.
He added: “I’m not going to allow those comments to make me hide.
“I’m not going to stop speaking or sharing useful information because somebody dislikes the way I look.
“I’m able to speak and eat – and they don’t prevent me from living my life or running my business.
“They might be the first thing somebody notices in a photograph or on a video, but it doesn’t bother me.
“Acceptance, to me, means that I am no longer at war with myself over something that is naturally part of me.
“People online regularly tell me to have the tissue removed, as if their preference should determine what I do with my own face.
“Surgery is a personal choice, and I have chosen not to change myself simply to meet somebody else’s idea of what looks normal.
“People get tattoos to stand out, so this is my own tattoo, so to speak.
“And it cost me nothing.”
