A jet pilot aborted a landing just feet from the ground amid fierce storm winds at a British airport.
The Boeing 737 was about to touch down when the pilot hit the throttles to power way again.
The huge plane carrying passengers from Corfu then did a ‘go around’ by circling back in for a successful landing.

Video showed the plane veering in fierce crosswinds at Exeter Airport, Devon, during Storm Austen, as reported by Need To Know
An eyewitness said: “A TUI passenger jet was forced to execute a go‑around at Exeter Airport after encountering strong crosswinds during Storm Austen.
“The aircraft aborted the approach and climbed away to reposition for a safer landing.
“The TUI aircraft encountered gusting crosswinds that made a stable final approach unsafe.
“Rather than continue, the flight crew performed a go‑around: increasing thrust, pitching up, and climbing away from the runway to enter a published missed‑approach or hold while conditions or the approach were re‑assessed.”
A spokesperson for travel firm TUI said: “While the flight was not diverted and landed safely in Exeter as scheduled, we understand the aircraft did perform a go-around before subsequently landing.”
