Teams from the Ramnagar Forest Division are monitoring the surrounding area and attempting to track the tiger’s movements.
Authorities have urged locals and tourists to remain vigilant and avoid venturing towards the forest while the big cat remains nearby.
Residents have also been advised to keep children away from the forest and avoid unnecessary journeys through areas where the tiger has been spotted.
The Garjiya Tourism Zone forms part of the wider Corbett Tiger Reserve, which recorded 260 tigers in the 2022 national tiger census.
It comes after a young man was mauled to death by a tiger near Ramnagar, close to the reserve, on 17 January.
Forest officials reportedly discovered his partially eaten head during a late-night patrol after he had apparently been dragged into the forest.
The killing sparked panic across Ramnagar and surrounding areas, prompting authorities to increase patrols and monitoring.
