A knife-wielding thug has been jailed after he was caught on doorbell camera threatening an elderly couple outside their home.
Jamie Allen, 29, ripped the cover from the camera and poured alcohol over it before launching an aggressive tirade at the pensioners.
He then pulled a knife from his waistband and threatened to stab the elderly woman when she tried to stop him, causing further damage.
Allen even spat in her face before walking away.
The terrifying confrontation was captured by the couple’s doorbell camera.
Allen has now been jailed for three-and-a-half years and handed two restraining orders, as reported by Need To Know.
The incident unfolded after the elderly couple had challenged Allen a few days earlier when they saw him dumping the contents of a wheelbarrow near their property.
They told him they intended to report him to the council.
On 11 June, Allen was walking past their home in Duston, Northampton, when he took exception to being “filmed” by the residential camera.
He approached their front door, pulled off the camera’s cover and poured a can of alcohol over it.
When the couple opened their door, Allen began shouting at them before producing a knife from his waistband.
He continued behaving aggressively towards the pair.
When the elderly woman grabbed his arm in an attempt to stop him from causing more damage, Allen threatened to stab her.
He then spat in her face and walked off.
Unbeknown to the couple, Allen was already wanted by Northamptonshire Police following allegations made by his former partner.
Police said he had been on his way to her home after making threats to kill her when he confronted the pensioners.
His ex-partner had previously told officers about controlling and coercive behaviour during their relationship.
Allen was subsequently charged with two counts of threats to kill, assault by beating, possession of a knife blade in a public place, criminal damage and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
He pleaded guilty to five of the six charges at Northampton Crown Court, while one count of threats to kill was ordered to remain on file.
Allen, of Gifford Court, Limehurst Square, Duston, returned to the court for sentencing on 4 September.
He was jailed for 42 months.
The court also imposed an indefinite restraining order protecting the elderly couple.
Allen was handed a separate five-year restraining order preventing him from directly or indirectly contacting his former partner.

“He used threats, intimidation, and violence to control and frighten those around him, leaving a lasting impact on the people he targeted, and I would like to thank them all for their support throughout this investigation.
“I would also like to commend the courage shown by Allen’s ex-partner who reported his controlling and coercive behaviour, as well as the bravery of the elderly couple who stood up to him despite being subjected to his threatening and aggressive behaviour.
“This was a team effort across the West LPA DAIU and Response departments, and I hope this sentence demonstrates that Northamptonshire Police takes reports of this nature seriously, and that we will work tirelessly together to bring offenders before the courts.”
