A tourist couple were tragically killed in a shocking hit-and-run during their holiday.
Wilbert Schwiers, 64, and his wife Gabriela Wiege Gulden, 63, were mowed down by a speeding truck whilst crossing the road.
The married couple were walking over a zebra crossing when the motorist ran a red light, hitting them both.

The shocking hit-and-run took place on 2 Oct, as reported by Need To Know.
The lovers from Mönchengladbach, Germany, were hit by the pickup truck on a crossing in Khao Lak, Thailand.
Witnesses and locals rushed to the aid of the couple on the road before paramedics arrived.

They were rushed to the Khao Lak Medical Centre, where they were tragically announced dead hours later.
The panicked driver fled the scene after the crash before turning himself in later on.
The 37-year-old man arrived at the Khao Lak Police Station in his damaged vehicle before surrendering to cops.
Reports state that Jetsada Chanphum, Police Colonel, confirmed the suspect had confessed.

The driver now faces multiple charges, including negligent driving causing death and failure to render assistance.
The suspect is now allegedly being tested for drugs and alcohol.
The results will determine if additional charges are needed to be filed.
Thai authorities are now coordinating with the German Embassy and relatives of the victims.
