One of the performers from the Willy Wonka experience, known as ‘The Sad Oompa Loompa Girl,’ gained significant attention in February following her involvement in the widely criticized Willy’s Chocolate Experience in Glasgow.

Despite the attraction’s underwhelming reception and parental complaints, Kirsty Paterson, the actress in question, has chosen to use her newfound viral fame to support charitable causes, notably raising funds for a children’s hospice in Chorley, Lancashire.

Reflecting on her unexpected rise to fame, the 29-year-old shared, “It’s been a surreal few weeks, and honestly, at times, it has been difficult to cope with all the attention, good and bad,” in an interview with Need To Know.

“I want to use this crazy platform for good things,” Kirsty expressed, emphasizing her desire to leverage her viral fame positively. Highlighting her personal connection to ADHD, she aims to inspire children with the condition to believe in their ability to achieve their dreams.

As part of her commitment to making a difference, Kirsty has enlisted to participate in Stars & Cars, a charity event slated for April 14th, where she will engage with fans by posing for selfies and signing autographs.

Speaking about her involvement, she underscored the importance of supporting initiatives that benefit people, especially children. Kirsty’s enthusiasm for the event stems from her passion for the world of Comic Con and Cosplay, making her participation in the charity event particularly meaningful.

Colin Wilby, the organizer of Stars & Cars and Ambassador at Derian House Children’s Hospice, expressed excitement about Kirsty’s participation, emphasizing the impact her presence will have on the event.

“The Glasgow Wonka experience took the world by storm when it went viral,” remarked an organizer, highlighting the widespread impact of Kirsty’s involvement.

Praising Kirsty’s decision to utilize her newfound fame for charitable purposes, the organizer emphasized her sense of humor and dedication to supporting a worthy cause.

Fans eager to participate can now purchase tickets for Stars & Cars, promising an immersive experience featuring childhood heroes and iconic vehicles from film and TV.

Among the attractions are four Batmobiles showcased together for the first time in the UK. Additionally, attendees can look forward to appearances by various celebrities, including Annette Badland from Ted Lasso, DC Comics’ Batman, The Terminator, and CBBC’s Hacker T. Dog. Colin, the event organizer, expressed hope that Kirsty’s participation would generate significant funds to benefit the families supported by Derian House Children’s Hospice, which cares for over 400 individuals with life-limiting conditions from across the North West of England.

Given the anticipated high demand, tickets are available for purchase online at www.ticketsource.co.uk.
