A property has gone up for sale at a bargain price and could be the perfect home – but it has quite the unlucky number.

The three-bed terraced house in Peterlee, County Durham, has a guide price of just £10,000 but is located on Number 13 on Thirteenth Street.

While it’s not suitable for anyone with triskaidekaphobia – the name of the phobia that describes a fear of the number 13 – it could be a great starter home for someone who isn’t superstitious.

And it might not be all bad.

Despite its negative connotations, numerologists actually view a house number of 13 as a sign of new beginnings.

In addition to its three bedrooms, there is a spacious kitchen and family bathroom alongside a sitting room, entrance hall and rear lobby.

The property also comes complete with an enclosed yard to the back of the property.

As well as being a first time buyer’s dream, this could suit someone who is looking for a light DIY project, as the house could benefit from a facelift.

The surrounding town of Peterlee has four schools and the nearest station is only 0.5 miles away, with services to Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

Number 13 is set to be sold at auction by Auction House, Lincolnshire and opens for an unconditional online auction on 3 June, 2024 reports Need To Know.

In addition to the final price, there is an admin fee of £3,600 inc VAT “payable on exchange of contracts”.

So, what will it be? A dance with fate at number 13 – or steering clear of a superstitious steal?
