A man is sharing his harrowing ordeal after being left with a collapsed nose following botched surgery.

Growing up, Lennon Carrothers, 22, suffered with a deviated septum.

While it didn’t initially cause any daily issues, he wanted to prevent any future health problems from occurring, so he booked himself in for surgery to fix this.

Now, though, £35,000 later he’s been left with a collapsed nose and is about to undergo a third surgery in a bid to get the “old him” back.

“My life has turned into an absolute hell,” Lennon, who is currently unemployed, told Need To Know.

“It completely destroyed me.

“I feel so horrible.

“I’ve had to give up work and everything I once knew has been taken away from me.

“I’m just waiting in agony in the hopes that this journey will finally be over.”

Lennon, from Bloomington, Indiana, US, thought the surgery in September 2022 was a “smart move”.

However, a couple of months later, the nightmare began.

He said: “I was beginning to take steps to improve my life.

“But now, I have severe breathing issues, where I keep waking up every four hours.

“I can barely sleep no matter how hard I try.”

He had to wait at least seven months to book his second procedure to fix the collapsed nasal valves.

In September 2023, he went through with the revision surgery using ear cartilage to attempt to fix the damage.

It’s been over a year since this procedure and the issues are only worsening.

On 14 November 2024, he has his third – and hopefully final – procedure booked with a renowned revision specialist.

He hopes this will bring peace into his life once again, but it comes at a price; an eye-watering $20,000 (USD) (£15,300).

Currently, he’s waiting on donations to reach his $10,000 (USD) (£7,600) target on GoFundMe – though he says the whole ordeal has left him in “significant debt”.

“Don’t go through surgery unless you absolutely need to and do extensive research on who you decide to go with.

“All I want to do is breathe normally again.

“It’s really hard to find mental peace when my face feels disfigured.

“I used to take photos while having fun, but I’ve deleted them all because they just make me so sad.

“I’d do anything to have my old life back, the one I had before botched surgery.”
