An influencer who makes £500K a month claims other women use her beauty to catfish and scam “naive men”.

Sophie Rain recently addressed a viral video in which a fellow content creator goes to the airport to meet up with a date.

In the TikTok, which has received over 46 million views, the woman – named Charlotte – reveals that she has “catfished” the man, who actually thought he was meeting Sophie.

Sophie has taken to social media to call out the “lame” and “gross”, behaviour but admits this isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

The 20-year-old claims there are several fake accounts online of people impersonating her in order to “scam” others out of money.

Sophie alleges that people have even taken her videos and used AI to put their faces on her body.

“It bothers me a lot,” said the influencer, who has 11 million followers across social media.

“I find it incredibly creepy seeing my body or my face used by someone else.

“People are impersonating me in order to scam naive men out of money.

“I have a lot of men who message me saying something along the lines of ‘Hey, we had plans to meet up and at the last minute you cancelled on me. I just want to know why.

“I try my best to respond to them and tell them that I don’t message people on my unverified social media accounts.

“I’ll give them some sympathy and sometimes they’re understanding and that’s that, but a lot of the time they think I’m lying about it.

“It really irritates me because it’s not my fault someone is using my photos to scam them.

“Shouldn’t they be more careful and think ‘Hmmm this random Sophie Rain telegram account messaged me and is asking for money to meet up’.

“It’s obviously a scam.”

Sophie, who is originally from Miami, but currently lives in Tampa, Florida, receives thousands of messages every week with men propositioning her.

She finds being attractive can sometimes bring bad attention and it has impacted her dating life.

Sophie said: “I can definitely say I have a lot of men hitting on me.

“This makes my dating life hard because I know that those men are just trying to date me for my body, not who I am as a person.

“I understand all relationships start with physical attraction but it usually isn’t men saying ‘Hey, you’re beautiful would you be interested in me taking you out on a date?’.

“It’s usually, ‘Hey, you’re sexy, can I get your Snapchat?’.

“It even gets to a point of harassment where I’ve had men follow me to my car begging for my number and stalking my social media.”

Having grown up poor, living off food stamps, Sophie says she is grateful for the luxuries being an influencer affords her.

When she’s not working, she spends time by the pool, travelling, going on lavish shopping trips or spending time with her family.

She was recently able to pay off $15,000 of her parents’ property tax debt and has bought them a new car.

While there are definite upsides, the dark side of her job takes a toll.

She added: “I understand that internet fame comes with recognition but I don’t think it calls for harassment or having my personal safety compromised.

“It is tiring and stressful at times.

“For anyone about to hand over cash to a hot stranger, be careful – it might be a horrible catfish!”

Jam Press has tried to contact Charlotte for comment on multiple occasions but has not yet received a reply.
