A plane sustained damage when it rolled into flagpoles at an airport after the pilot was suspected of forgetting to put the brakes on.

The De Havilland Canada DHC-8-402 was left with its nose sandwiched between two of the girthy metal poles.

There appears to be heavy scuffing and denting to the side of the plane’s nose as a result of the collision.

The blunder happened on Monday (1 December) night at the VIP pavilion at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya.

The mishap occurred because the plane had been left without wheel chocks and without its brakes engaged, it is understood.

The DHC-8 is one of eight operated by Kenyan low-cost airline Jambojet, as reported by Need To Know.

“While parked, the aircraft rolled off the ramp and came into contact with a pole, resulting in some damage to its nose.
