An off-duty police officer was left with his foot hanging by a thread after a driver ran him over.
A woman was heading up a hill when she collided with a motorcycle and lost control of her car.
She slammed into the off-duty cop, who was sitting on the pavement, before hurtling into a busy pizzeria down the road.

Horror footage shows how the car ended up all the way inside the eatery on Sunday (20 Apr) night.
The ill-starred policeman was filmed with a gruesome ankle wound as he waited for help to arrive.
Luckily, no one inside the pizza joint in Cariacica, north east of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was injured, as reported by Need To Know.

The restaurant was full at the time but everyone managed to run out of the way in time.
Paramedics gave the wounded man first aid at the scene before taking him to a hospital in nearby Vitória.
Witnesses say the woman was climbing the hill erratically.
However, she was breathalysed and was found not to be under the influence.
Her friend, Richard Coimbra, told local media: “She was going up the Bela Vista hill and a speeding motorbike hit her at the junction.
“She panicked and, instead of braking, she accelerated, hit the guy on the pavement, went screeching up, and crashed into the pizzeria.”
The police say the motorcyclist had bloodshot eyes and refused to be breathalysed.
An investigation into the case is ongoing.
