Thieves brazenly raided a Sainsbury’s in broad daylight as helpless staff and shoppers with kids watched on.

Three men, wearing hoodies, stuffed bags with booze and cigarettes during the brazen theft.

A video – filmed by a customer – showed them hurriedly snatching items – completely ignoring a man in a white top and name tag who was standing nearby.

At the start of the clip, a female customer could be seen standing at the checkout, telling a child: “Stand here.”

It happened yesterday (10 Jun) at a Sainsbury’s in Clapham Road, Clapham North, south London.

Locals were furious, as reported by Need To Know.

Norman Leeds said: “It’s no good.

“Shops will have to return to keeping everything behind the counter.”

Stuart Harper added: “This is what happens when there is zero accountability.”

Another said: “Disgusting.

“It’s only a matter of time before people start taking things into their own hands. Imagine your kid being there, and these rats are looting the joint.

“Again, they dgaf about the consequences of the authorities.”

And another said: “Why would anyone still bother to pay at the checkout?

“It’s all free self service these days- shops allow it.

“Locking the doors and calling police isn’t an option.

“Is anarchy the next step?”

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Police attended an incident at our Clapham North Local yesterday (10 Jun) and we are supporting them with their investigation.”

The Met Police has been approached for comment.
