A woman who loves her “tan, big lips and face tattoos” says people who take issue with her look should “check they are perfect” first.
Sarah-Jane Howell was just 18 years old when she started getting inked.
The 29-year-old from Essex is a recovering addict who has previously talked about how her skin art helps her stay sober.
But being covered in tattoos – especially across her face – and having plump lips doesn’t always go down well with strangers, who stare or make unwanted comments.
But Sarah-Jane couldn’t care less.
“Since becoming who I wanted to be externally, the internal me is happy and feels content,” she told Need To Know.

“I love my tan, my big lips, and my face tattoos – they’re all a part of who I am and remind me of how far I’ve come.
“But getting to this point hasn’t been easy.
“I’m very confident in myself and negative people have zero effect on me.
“As long as I’m happy when I look in the mirror I really don’t care.
“[Anyone who want to judge my appearance] should check they are perfect first.”
Sarah-Jane gets regular filler top-ups, having recently shared how her lips were leaking from the excess.
Although there is no “hidden or deeper meaning” to her appearance, she expresses that this isn’t about “vanity”.
She said: “Making the changes I did wasn’t about vanity – it was about reclaiming my identity, expressing myself and finally starting to feel comfortable in my own skin.
“I always get regular [filler] top-ups to stay big.
“But if I miss a top-up for a while I will put the extra ml in.
The first time I got filler, I cried like a baby while holding my friend’s hand.
“[Now], I don’t even use numbing cream as I’m so used to it.”
Sarah-Jane also went under the knife earlier this month for a boob job with 700cc implants to go from a C cup to an F/G cup.
And she “plans for more surgery” in the future.
Sarah-Jane added: “I always am thankful for the kind people and the people who love my look.
“The negative people get ignored by me, doesn’t faze me.”
