A former champion boxer known as ‘Female Rocky’ has died aged 47.
Alejandra ‘Locomotora’ Oliveras won four world championships in different weight divisions during her illustrious boxing career.
She then became a bodybuilding influencer with 1.6m Instagram followers before entering the world of politics.

Alejandra suffered a stroke while dining with loved ones at home on 14 July.
She spent several days in hospital and appeared to be making a recovery before a suffering a heart attack.

She died at the Cullen Hospital in her home city of Santa Fe on Monday afternoon (28 Jul).
The bodybuilder underwent a craniotomy after the stroke, and doctors warned that she suffered from carotid artery pathologies and was hypertensive.
Hours before her death, hospital spokesperson Dr Carrizo said she was starting to show signs of recovery and was “able to breathe with less assistance from the ventilator”.
She was also able to partially open her eye and show motor responses on the right side of her body in what was called “a very important step”.
But a heart attack that afternoon dashed all hopes of a recovery, as reported by Need To Know.

Dr Carrizo said the patient had recently undergone breast augmentation surgery, but there was no direct relationship between that procedure and her stroke.
Alejandra was a professional boxer from 2005 to 2019 with a record of 33 wins, three losses and two draws.
She held the WBC female super bantamweight title from 2006 to 2008, the WBA female lightweight title from 2011 to 2012, the WBO female featherweight title from 2012 to 2013, and the WBC female super lightweight title from 2013 to 2014.
She called herself “Female Rocky, but for real”.
In a previous interview, Alejandra said she started learning boxing at a young aged to protect herself from domestic violence.
After retiring from boxing, she went on to take part in several Argentine reality shows and became a social media influencer with millions of followers.
Alejandra, who was also a competitive bodybuilder, entered the world of politics in 2021, launching an unsuccessful bid to become MP for the province of Santa Fe.
Upon Javier Milei’s arrival in office, she was appointed as an official for the Secretariat of Tourism, Environment and Sports within the Ministry of National Security.
In April this year, she was elected to the Constituent Assembly to reform the provincial constitution.
