A 40-year-old bloke had to be cut out of a children’s playground slide after getting himself totally wedged inside.
The man, who hasn’t been named, became stuck in the enclosed plastic tube at a school on Saturday (16 August) afternoon.
Fire crews said he was found folded up “feet and head first” halfway down the twisting chute – after apparently trying to shimmy through it by bending himself in half.

It’s not known if he was there with mates or just fancied a solo go on the kids’ equipment.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene but quickly realised it wasn’t going to be a simple rescue.

Because of the design, the only option was to slice the slide open.
To make matters worse, the sweltering heat left the man trapped inside what fire officials called a roasting “heat dome”.
He was woozy and gasping for air as medics pushed oxygen through the tube and set up ventilation fans.
Firefighters rolled in with a truck, secured the slide to the ladder and cut through the thick plastic with a power tool.

Thirty minutes later he was free – but the school’s slide was left in ruins just two weeks before term starts.
Pictures posted online show him curled up in the fetal position as rescuers tugged at his socked feet.
Despite his ordeal, the man refused hospital treatment.
The fire department later praised its crew, calling it “a unique call for service”, as reported by Need To Know.

Locals flocked to Facebook to comment.
One wrote: “Great job by all of the first responders.”
Another added: “Aww that poor guy. Glad everyone is okay! Good job to everyone that helped this poor guy.”

Others pointed out how claustrophobic it must have been, saying: “What an absolutely horrible experience this must have been for that unfortunate individual. Hope he is okay.”
Another said: “Poor guy. That must have been hot and scary.”
But one unimpressed commenter simply put: “How embarrassing.”
The incident happened at an elementary school in Vernon, Connecticut, US.
