Villagers were forced to flee after a WW2 bomb was found close to a Premier League footballer’s heartland.
The huge explosive was safely moved to a secure field after it was discovered close to a primary school.
Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled detonation.

Police evacuated nearby homes as a precaution, with residents allowed back an hour later.
Others were warned to keep windows and doors closed during the operation.
The bomb was found on Priest Lane, Mottram St Andrew – about two miles from Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney all lived in the area whilst playing for Manchester United.
More recently, the village has been home to current stars like Man City’s Phil Foden and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.
It was close to Mottram St Andrew Primary Academy, on Sunday (28 Sept).
It was safely detonated yesterday (29 Sept), as reported by Need To Know.
Residents were temporarily relocated to Bollington Town Hall while the controlled explosion took place.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “The ordnance has now been safely detonated.
“As a result of the incident, a number of properties in the local area have been evacuated, and a police cordon is currently in place as a precautionary measure.
“Residents can now return to their homes.
“We would like to thank the owners of the quarry for kindly stopping business and allowing us to use the area to make the ordinance safe.”
