Georgia Toffolo has been criticised online for sharing pictures of herself taken before a funeral, alongside a tribute post to her husband’s late grandmother.

The 30-year-old media and television personality – best known for appearing on ‘Made in Chelsea’ and winning ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ – posted the snaps to social media, sparking backlash from followers who have branded the pictures “a new low”.

Georgia, from Torquay, Devon – who splits her time between London and Scotland – shared pictures on the day of her funeral showing the handbag her late grandmother-in-law had given her.

Another shot showed Georgia posing in an all-black ensemble, with the bag not visible.
Another, taken from the back, showed a large black bow in her hair.

In a third shot, she dangled the handbag with the ocean in the background.

But the series of snaps proved controversial online, with some followers criticising the influencer and accused her of taking an “outfit check”.

One person said: “Surely it’s not about the fashion. It’s lovely but the day is not about fashion.”

“You’re at a funeral not a fashion show…” another pointed out.

Someone else wrote: “I don’t know anyone who takes photos of hair and accessories for a funeral.”

“Doing an outfit check at a funeral is really a new low,” another critic wrote.

One person commented: “Love Toff, but I’m slightly cringing at the pics. I’m not sure it’s the time or place. I know it’s what she’s used to but being centre of attention at a funeral just isn’t a good look.”

Another user dubbed it “really strange behaviour”

But other fans leapt to her defence.

One person wrote: “Can’t it be both? I think the outfit is classic and appropriate, showing this style to the younger generation is a great thing…”

“What a beautiful tribute with her handbag, a symbol of the memories that never fade,” another viewer agreed.

Someone else added: “Maybe it was James taking the photos and it was important to him?”

“The bag was James’ grannies that she bought years ago,” another person pointed out.

The pictures came alongside a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother-in-law, who died aged 93.

Georgia captioned the post: “Last week we said goodbye to James’s Grandmother.

“She was so incredibly kind and welcoming to me.

“I’ll never forget the first time we walked into her house, which went on to become the heart of so many family memories, and her sweetness towards me that day.

“We’ve had quite a lot of loss over the past two years, which has been really difficult.

“Sunday lunches at Granny’s house were the epicentre of family life. The menu hadn’t changed in over 50 years, and I loved that so very much.

“I was so proud to wear her beautiful bag, which she bought half a century ago, to her funeral.

“What’s so bittersweet about losing someone is that all of their knowledge and wisdom go with them.

“But what an unbelievable testament to her to look around the church and see 150 people there to celebrate a 93-year-old woman who meant so much to so many.

“She really was at the centre of not just James’s family, but the whole community.

“I’m hoping James won’t have to give any more eulogies for a very long time.

“Four in two years is far too many.

“We’re all a bit lost thinking what we’ll do with our Sundays now, but maybe it’s time to start some new traditions and smile at all the wonderful memories James had with her.

“I feel so lucky that I have so many too.”

Jam Press has approached Georgia’s representatives for comment.
