An idiot driver needed rescue when his Land Rover got stuck in a river after they refused to use a bridge.
The silver motor was embedded axle deep in the fast-flowing water.
Witnesses hooked a line to the vehicle to try and get it out, but despite their best efforts, the car remained stuck for hours.

The incident took place at Fingle Bridge over the River Teign, near Exeter, Devon.
An eyewitness, who did not want their name included, said the driver had chosen to cross the river instead of using the bridge because the car had a snorkel attached.
“He didn’t want to drive across bridge,” they told Need To Know.
“And even though advised not to he thought he could drive across the river.
“He had a snorkel on the Land Rover so thought he could do it.
“Unfortunately he got stuck on a boulder.
“He had to put out a call for help to other Land Rover owners.
“One who turned up to help had their winch cable snapped.
“Eventually the stuck car was pulled back under the bridge.
“But then it got stuck on a tree stump.
“The car was then fully flooded and ended up a write off.
“We left after three hours and it was still there.”
