A pro cyclist has shown her shocking scar after a race crash left her with a brain bleed.
Kamilla Aasebø shared a series of post-injury snaps, including one of the large scar running across her head, on Monday (27 Apr).
The 19-year-old Norwegian was involved in a heavy crash during the Paris–Roubaix road race in France on 12 April.

She suffered a brain haemorrhage, as well as fractures to her elbow and jaw.
Kamilla wrote: “My stay in France ended up being a lot longer than expected.

“Unfortunately, the bleeding in my brain became worse quite quickly, which meant I needed emergency surgery.
“I also had surgery to fix fractures in my elbow and jaw, but thankfully all the surgeries went well.”
Kamilla revealed she is now recovering closer to home, as reported by Need To Know.
“After 10 slow days in Lille – but only five that I can remember – I’m very happy to finally be back in Oslo at Ullevål Hospital,” she wrote.

“Right now, the main focus is regaining movement in my right leg after the brain injury, and I’m ready and excited to begin the road to recovery.”
Kamilla, from Oslo, finished third in the Norwegian National Championships Women Elite Road Race in June 2025.
She said: “The crash itself was not especially dramatic. I was simply very unlucky with the outcome.
“But once it became that serious, I’ve also been very lucky with how well things have gone.”
Kamilla thanked hospital staff, her team doctor, and her parents “for staying by my side the whole way”.
She added: “One day, I will make it to the velodrome in Roubaix.”
