Icicléia and Romildo Veloso e Silva had been separated for three months.
Silva, 69, was found dead in the law office in Ourilândia do Norte, Brazil, shortly after the incident.
Staff told police that he had asked the lawyer to leave the room so he could speak privately with Icicléia.
Shortly after leaving, the lawyer heard gunshots, as reported by Need To Know.

When police arrived, they found Icicléia sitting in a chair with a gunshot wound to the back of her head, still showing signs of life.
Silva was found dead in the bathroom with a head wound, with a revolver next to his body.
Police believe he shot Icicléia in revenge for the breakdown of their marriage before turning the gun on himself.
Icicléia received first aid and was taken to a local hospital, before being transferred to another facility.
Her condition worsened on Thursday (4 Jun) morning and she remained in a deep coma.

That afternoon, she was pronounced dead from a traumatic brain injury.
Icicléia was laid to rest in Ourilândia do Norte on Friday (5 Jun). She is survived by three sons.
Silva – a surgeon, councillor and former mayor of Ourilândia do Norte – had his wake on Thursday.
Police are investigating the case.
