A reality star who was forced to give up farting in jars after being rushed to hospital is now turning her hand to selling candles scented like her wind.
Steph Matto, 31, from Connecticut, US, was rushed to hospital last month with symptoms of a “heart attack”, caused by her forcing out excess gas.
The 90 Day Fiancé star says she was told by doctors to give up her fibre-high diet of beans, eggs and banana protein shakes, which had been fuelling her $200,000 business.
Self-proclaimed ‘fartrepreneur’ has now turned her hand to selling candles inspired by her globally renowned farts.
The candles are retailing at $49.95 (£36.99) – a fraction of the cost of a jar, which Steph sold for $1,000 (£740) each.
Each one boasts a cinnamon, nutmeg and spice scent, along with Steph’s “secret ingredient”.
“I chose that smell because clients who bought my farts in a jar said they had a spicy smell to them”, Steph told Jam Press.
“I’ve had several fans reach out extremely dismayed I don’t sell the jars anymore so I feel this is a good replacement.
“So I decided to give in to my adoring fans and start selling my most intimate smells.
“The candles are inspired by my farts, so they do have a pleasant, spicy, almost seasonal aroma.
“I wanted them to smell like me, and be inspired by my natural smells. I like to think I smell like cinnamon and spice and everything nice.
“There’s also a fourth secret ingredient.
“I felt it’d be a fun, sexy, and quirky valentines day gift idea for a fraction of the cost of my fart jars.
“I hope it can make my fans and curious people around the world happy and feel less lonely for valentines day.”
Earlier this month Steph made thousands after the launch of her fart NFTs.
An NFT – which stands for non-fungible token – is a form of cryptocurrency which can be sold and redeemed through a system known as the blockchain.
With 5,000 NFTS for sale, Steph will make $1 million if they all sell out and she has already sold over $130,000 worth.
She told Jam Press: “It was towards the end of my time doing the mass orders of fart jars that I began to see the toll it was taking on my body and health.
“I thought maybe digitising the farts and putting them out into the metaverse was the best way to keep the farts going.
“I really want to make an example for women in the NFT community that they have a space too.
“It’s a great distraction from a lot that is going on in the world right now, and is a symbol of hope and lightness during dark times.
“Now people have to simply imagine the smell!
“They [are] only going to be available for one limited quantity and then gone forever.”
But Steph hasn’t completely abandoned her old ways,
She added: “I have actually taken on one or two orders for jars since announcing my retirement but am taking it easy.
“I fulfilled a fart jar order for two customers last week. One was called David who was super sweet.
“Also I really wanted one so I made it work.
“But now I am fully focused on my fart jar NFTs and now my fart jar candles.
“I’m still bringing farts to the people, from asses to the masses.”
With her new business venture, Steph is also selling pants, bras and socks on the website ranging from $99 (£73) to $149 (£110).
