Story by Jam Press (Home Mines) Pictured: One of the properties on the estate. Huge estate hits market for £6.5 million with three secret underground MINES. A huge estate has hit the market for $7.9 million (£6.5 million) and it holds a big secret – three underground mines. The ranch in Elsberry, Missouri, USA, includes a historic home and another modern house, boasting the finest luxury living with its very own lift. But the standout selling point of the luxury estate is three limestone mines, built into the rock on the estate. Fielding Wigginton first purchased the 40 acres of land and built a rudimentary home out of logs in 1857. In 1904, miners started to look for Kimmswick limestone on his property. Over the years, the two houses were added and the mines remained Perfect for creating an impressive wine cellar or for the biggest game of hide and seek, they are made from limestone and have 40ft high ceilings. The largest of the three is a huge 417,000 sq ft with two levels and railroad access. The new owner could create office space, a shooting range or even a brewery in the 440,000 sq ft space. Above ground, the homes boast five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The fenced-off land and large barn make for a perfect scene to ride horses, with beautiful views of the US countryside. Elsewhere, there is a two-acre lake filled with fish In the listing, the estate agent describes it as "THE BEST property in Elsberry" and calls the sale a "once in a lifetime opportunity". ENDS
