Meet Rafael, 31,a marketing specialist from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who specializes in training people to be human puppy’s. He’s trained 20 so far and ‘given birth’ to six more, who he introduced to the lifestyle.
Rafael stated that before undertaking his role he’d lost his self-esteem and he didn’t accept himself at all.
Then, four years ago, he was introduced to the BDSM sub culture of ‘puppy play’ and everything changed.
He told Jam Press~
“The opportunity to become a human dog trainer came into my life during a hard time.”
“A long-term relationship had ended, the job I had put all my efforts into was ending for lack of resources, I was insecure with myself and I was feeling weird.”
“Then in 2016, I met a guy whilst producing a documentary about BDSM for my university journalism course.”
“It was around the time that the film Fifty Shades of Grey was getting famous in Brazil.”
“Suddenly I was practicing things I have never imagined and making people and myself feel
good. My BDSM gave me back my self-esteem and
confidence.”
“My life, not only my sexual life, but also my social and professional life changed a lot since my first session.”
Rafael explained, he has always loved dogs and after trying out playing the role of a dog himself, he gravitated to the more domineering role of trainer as he dislikes being submissive.
“I prefer to try my techniques on myself before, so I can feel what people are going to feel.”
“ I think it is important.”
“ At my very first session before I started dominating, I asked to be a dog for some minutes.”
“I’ve trained at least 20 guys to become dogs and & gave birth to at least six puppies that discovered their love of dog play and got their own masks and outfits to join the community.”
Rafael explained what happens at one of his sessions.
“I always start with a social conversation to find out more about the dog I will be training’sboundaries.”
“When I am about to start the session, I ask for the guy to take his clothes off (except for his underwear) and I ask him to go on his knees, with a mask on his eyes and I put him in handcuffs.”
“I leave him alone for ten minutes. That makes him nervous, it is nice and allows me time to dress in my leather clothes.”
“Then I dress the guy as a dog. I put knee pads on him, biker gloves, a collar with a leash and a mask, usually he cannot see.”
“Before taking off the mask, I put a mirror in front of the guy and then when I take the mask off the dog sees his transformation and usually gets very emotional.”
When he feels his dogs are comfortable, he moves onto the next part of the process.
“I teach them to walk like a dog. “
“It is not easy, but they always think it will be.”
“So, I take off my gloves and my knee pads, to show them why this is important, it hurts when not using them.”
“I teach them how to sit and follow orders just like a normal dog. I give them some affection, and they love this part.”
“The first sessions are always smaller, taking 30 minutes to 1 hour. In the longer sessions I will teach the Dogs how to bark. It would take 5 training sessions to become a fully initiated dog.”
“When the session is more advanced, I put the mouthpiece in, which is a little hard for the guy to get used to at first and then I clip on the tail but this is only for guys who like things to be more erotic.”
Human puppy play is part of the kink and fetish community but Rafael explained that his training sessions are not always sexual but it can be as satisfying.
“In 70% of my sessions, there is nothing sexual.”
“ I don’t know how to explain it but I can have a full session without putting my genitals out of the underwear and, when it finishes, I’m feeling the same sensation as 10 orgasms.”
“You can have dog play with or without the sex part, and both are ok.”
Rafael said about the differences between those who are dog handlers and those who are the pups.
“The main difference between a submissive dog and a dominant dog trainer relationship is the affection part.”
“The submissive follows orders because they feel the dominator is a superior; the dog follows orders because they want to make their owners happy and want their company.”
Rafael told Jam Press that it is not always easy for him to stay in the character of the ‘dominant trainer’
“I’m not a huge strong guy, so it’s always funny for me when I have a Submissive in front of me that’s bigger than me and I need to guide him.”
“That happened with a guy that wanted to try dog play. He was a cross fit personal trainer and wanted to have ‘human dogs’ and create a pack but he wanted to be trained before it.”
“So, I started my session as always, and everything was hard to do.”
“I wasn’t able to move his body or fix the mask, and we started to laugh, I just couldn’t stay In character anymore.”
“It was not a session anymore, it was a brothers’ moment and we then made great progress.”
“I also gave him one of my masks because it fit him so much.”
“He is a good dog, and up to this day we have a good relationship. He has his pack and his boyfriend but when we meet at parties, he always comes to find me and calls me ‘dad.’
“ He’ll even sit down in front of me as a dog.”
A keen promoter of the community, he has organised numerous impressive events throughout Brazil and he has aspirations to take his dog play passion worldwide.
“I organized the first Mr Puppy Brazil, last November. Two months later, I joined with the Mr Puppy winner (Presto dog) in the International Geared Up Pup competition, and he was the winner, the first Brazilian winning an international contest!”
“I want to see more and more dogs appearing. We have the biggest Gay Parade in the world, and we have a fetish area there.”
“I want to see a puppy area! “
“I want the second Mr Puppy contest with much more competitors.”
“In the USA and Europe, we see a lot of famous dog packs, in Brazil we still don’t have that.”
“In the Parade, I’m the only guy handling a dog. I hope to see more dogs and trainers when we hold the events in the future.”
“It’s part of my life now. I tried, but I cannot live a vanilla life again. And even if I had a vanilla or a submissive boyfriend who is not a dog, I would need a human dog too.
That’s forever a requirement.”
