Meet the man leading a double life in which he’s both a successful engineer and a latex-loving wearer.
Gaelle Lagalle, 37, from France, has had a passion for dressing up since primary school, where at six-years-old, he was already making his own masks from papier-mâché
He trained for five years to become an engineer and has worked in the oil and gas industry since graduating from his studies, but he never lost his passion for dressing up.
In 2008, Gaelle first began wearing latex outfits before setting up an Instagram account, @gaellelagalle, where he regularly shares snaps of himself posing in his interesting designs, which he has spent around £30,000 on over the years, sharing with his 3,069 followers.
One particularly exotic shot on Gaelle’s page shows him wearing a spectacular latex Zebra outfit, and has racked up hundreds of views.
Others show him donning a raunchy nurse outfit, while in one futuristic style pic, he can be seen dressed as a sexy sci-fi alien.
All of the amazing outfits in his collection of 40 are custom made for him by a specialist artist as well as his designer friend, @spirit.creates.
Speaking to Jam Press, Gaelle explained, “I’m not really sure what made me chose this lifestyle, in fact, its not so much as a lifestyle as maintaining a balance between my ‘normal’ life. It’s like having two separate lives.”
“I prefer to separate the two worlds. I am not totally in one lifestyle but I have to wear a mask to live my life. I juggle between the two worlds, Engineer and latex/ rubber wearer.”
Gaelle said that only a few members of his family know about his latex-loving side as he prefers to keep it more private.
“A few of my family know really about this side of me, it’s not something I share with them. It’s a hobby that I know would be of much interest to them.”
Gaelle, who is single, has travelled all over the world for his fetish lifestyle and gives credit to his well-paying engineering profession for allowing him to have such freedom.
He has attended events, conventions and photoshoots throughout Europe, where he loves to parade in his intricate outfits.
“I’m met with mostly positivity and I get a good reception, the pony is really popular,” he said, adding, “I had the most fun dressing up and being part of a fetish parade in Montreal, while I was in my pony outfit.”
“It was really exciting and we strolled through the city and people constantly stopped to take selfies and pictures with me. Even children wanted pictures with me.”
However, he admits he gets mixed reactions from some people who are “freaked out by the face mask,” he usually wears.
Gaelle says he uses his custom made outfits to bring out a different version of himself.
“I love the transformative aspect. The style and the unconventional aspect of it. The slick and shiny aspect also, to be able to transform and be something else even during sex. It’s thrilling,”
“The affinity of the material and the way it totally transforms me as there is no part of my real self visible.”
However, he insists his love of the saucy latex outfits is “not sexual” when he is attending a public exhibition or doing a photoshoot.
“I love the exhibition side of it and interacting with the public,” he said. “It’s quite something. People are perceiving the outfits in their own way and you act accordingly to meet their expectations and it’s really fun.”
Speaking about what motivated him to begin sharing his insane outfits on Instagram, the engineer explained, “Instagram is a medium for people like me that are happy to show themselves and present a transformative aspect.”
“I communicate more easily through images of myself than another medium. I don’t think I will show my true self through my Instagram, the mysterious side of me is also part of the game.”
“I am a wandering soul incarnated in different outfits,” he added.
