A third generation family-run business has left TikTok users confused after creating a special Jubilee ice cream – that people say looks more like ‘toothpaste’ than a royal treat.
The clip is part of a new trend on the platform, where people show off #scooptoks – videos of, you guessed it, ice cream scoops, and has racked up over 1.2 million views and 37,400 likes.
Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee ice cream has a base flavour of vanilla with ripples of raspberry and bubblegum sauce and was created by Donna Townson and siblings Roseanne Rooney and Louis Federici.

Although it certainly looks tasty, most TikTokers commented to say the ice cream appears to have come right out of a toothpaste tube of Aquafresh or Colgate.
“I thought that was Aquafresh,” wrote one user.
“Ah yes aquafresh icecream,” added someone else.
“Calgate rebranded,” wrote a third person, adding a wink emoji [sic], while someone else simply commented “Colgate”.
“Minty fresh,” added a fifth user.
“Thanks for the reminder. I’m gonna brush my teeth now,” commented someone else.
“What in the 9 in 10 dentists recommendations is this,” joked another TikToker.
“This reminds me of toothpaste,” added someone else.
“Do I eat it or do I brush my teeth with it,” wrote another TikToker.

Donna, Roseanne and Louis run Fredericks Ice Cream, which has stores in Chorley, Lancashire and Wigan.
Using their grandfather’s original recipe, the trio have designed over 200 varieties of scoops over the years, with this their latest creation.
“We manufacture onsite and it is two colours (bubblegum and raspberry) sauce rippled into vanilla ice cream,” Donna told Jam Press.
“Yes [it’s been] very popular and interest and comments has led us to consider a minty, toothpaste version!”
