Mr & Mrs Dick, a two-floor bakery based in Seminyak in the south of the country, opened its doors just over a fortnight ago.
It boasts pastel pink walls and minimalistic decor while serving up an eye-watering array of saucy sweets.
Slogans such as ‘I licked it so it’s mine’ and ‘life is a dick, sometimes it gets hard for no reason’ are emblazoned across the walls.
Patisserie owner Carlo told Jam Press: “At the end of the day, it’s all just fun. We call it ‘10-minute fun’.
He said many clients enter the store, order a chocolate or strawberry-dipped genitalia-shaped waffle, and then take snaps with their cameras to upload on their socials.
The owner stated: “The reaction has been amazing so far. People of all walks of life are enjoying the concept.”
Carlo said he came up with the idea for the store about a year ago when a friend told him about a similar venture in Milan in Italy, adding: “I was like, ‘you know what, maybe I will make one here in Bali’.”
Due to Indonesia’s strict pornography laws, Carlo consulted with several lawyers before launching his new business to ensure that his products did not get caught in any legal crosshairs.
Carlo said he called the shop Mr & Mrs Dick because it sounded like the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’.
However, he knew from the start that he would be including vagina-shaped waffles to the menu as the bakery is “all about equality”.
Despite only recently opening its doors, Mr & Mrs Dick has garnered nearly 2,000 followers on Instagram and many took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the new venture.
One Instagram user wrote: “Definitely the best-selling dick waffle!”
“Haha 18+ here,” commented someone else.
Another user wanted to know: “What do you do when you eat this, what do you bite?”
However, not everyone was impressed with the phallic treats and one user said: “Even though it tastes good, I still don’t want to eat the fish, the shape is too weird and vulgar in my opinion.” [sic]
Someone else simply wrote: “Vulgar.”
