A man has revealed the hilarious mishap he suffered after receiving the wrong food order, but it wasn’t a clear swap.
Thomas Shannon was left in a state of “pure confusion” after opening up the fast-food bag from Skelmersdale McDonald’s on the M58 on 15 February at 6:30 am.
While the project manager still had a craving for his double sausage and egg McMuffin breakfast order, he managed to find the funny side.
In a bid to share the salty mishap, he decided to upload a picture of the order he received on Twitter, where he’s received thousands of likes and over 493,000 views.

“I’m still starving now, I think fruit and fibre may be the breakfast of choice from now on,” the 34-year-old, from Liverpool, told NeedToKnow.online.
“I guess the salt was for the customers, but mistakes happen – especially as we’re all tired at 6:30 am.
“I was travelling to Liverpool airport and ordered a double sausage and egg McMuffin meal with a latte.
“About 20 minutes after leaving, I checked the order and was left in pure confusion.
“I absolutely didn’t expect to feel salt sachets when I reached in.”
In the tweet, he wrote: “Early one this morning, thought I’d get a little maccies by the way of sustenance. [sic]
“Imagine my joy, upon joining the M58 and setting off upon my way, to find that instead of a Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin I had instead been furnished with a bag of salt.
“What a treat.”
Specsavers commented: “Why so salty?”
“I’d have actual tears,” another person added.

Ryan Oakes said: “Great stuff – stuff like this brings a little bit of joy to the day mate.”
“This is my favourite tweet of all time. Ever. ONLY YOU.” one user commented.
Stephen said: “Serves you right for calling it Maccies.” [sic]
Thomas followed up with two further tweets saying: “One normal day it’s all I’m after.
“Had to count it. 315 sachets of salt hahahaha.”
He added: “I always post things I find funny on social media, as mad things are always happening to me.
“I’d order there again, though maybe this is a message from now on to stop.”
Jam Press has contacted McDonald’s for comment.
