A TikToker has revealed how she discovered a seed stuck in her cheek – which had been buried for over two weeks.
When Alexa Hendricks chowed down on a leafy salad, decorated with edible flowers, she didn’t expect to find part of the dish lodged in her cheek.
The 22-year-old recalls feeling a “sharp pinch” as she took a bite and two weeks later, while eating an apple, a taste of sourness washed over her mouth – followed by a seed popping out.
In a clip uploaded on TikTok, which has racked up 16.1 million views and over 1.3 million likes, Alexa talks her viewers through the shocking ordeal.
“I was shocked and speechless when it came out, but I was relieved it was over,” Alexa, a content creator from Kentucky, US, told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk .
“I was eating a salad that had edible flowers, took a bite and immediately felt a sharp pinch.
“The seed went into my parotid gland, a major salivary gland, and two weeks later, I was eating an apple and the sourness drew it out.”
In the clip, Alexa begins with a close up shot of the moment the seed slowly eases its way out of her cheek.
Next, she shows a picture of the salad, followed by a picture of her cheek, as she says that her glands began swelling shortly afterwards.
Four days later, she went to the dentist to find out what was going on, who she claims was “stumped.”
Alexa visited an oral surgeon the next day, who advised using mouthwash and ibuprofen for the pain, as she shows clips in both surgeries, followed by her smoothing her glands with a gua sha.
She then reveals a picture of the lengthy seed in her palm, before replaying the clip where the seed comes out of her cheek, followed by a shocked reaction.
Alexa ends the video with saying the seed in question was from the marigold flower.
Users flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many left shocked and others, who took away a different message.

“I did a story time thinking it wouldn’t blow up, but since I saw how invested people were, I just kept giving updates.”
