Instagram users were stunned by a rather bold Depop seller who is flogging a pair of shoes that are ripped to shreds.
Sharing the exchange between a prospective buyer and the seller, messages read: “Are you able to send me a photo of the insole? Will they need replacing?”
To which the seller later says: “The insole is fine.”
However, pictures paint a rather less simple story, with the entire outer sole completely ripped open and exposed.
The insole itself does indeed appear to be in one piece.
The post went viral on Instagram, with more than 6,000, and left users ridiculing the exchange.
One said: “This cannot be real.”
“The gasp that came out of me,” commented another shocked viewer.
Someone else pointed out: “Insole is technically okay.”
“I stepped on a grenade before I posted them but they’re fine,” quipped one person.
Another joked: “They were fine before they got attacked by a group of alligators. Jeez!”
“Insole looks fine to me,” joked someone else.
Another quipped: “That sole has left its body.”
“I mean, the insole is fine? Just the rest is suuuuper bad shape,” said another viewer. [sic]
“Always ask about the outsole,” noted one shopper.
