A mum has been left in stitches after her toddler was caught in the act of stealing and eating an entire cake – which was meant for his step-sister’s birthday.

When Tanisha Smith, received a text from her partner whilst, at work, she expected to see an innocent snap of her son, Kai, two, and his step-sister.

But the 30-year-old, from Lincoln, was shocked as the plucky tot was pictured sitting on the sofa, stuffing his face with a whole cake – which was meant for his step-sister’s birthday.

“When Kai got caught with the cake on the sofa, he literally looked at his dad and said: ‘Oh no, it’s okay, it’s okay’ and carried on eating it,” the mum-of-two, who works at B&M, told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“He had managed to get the cake off the kitchen side while his dad was upstairs changing, and it was still in its box.

“My partner just laughed and took a picture and sent it to me while I was at work.

“I wasn’t at all surprised when I got the message.

“To be honest, he is the little comedian of the family.

“I did find it absolutely hilarious though, and went around showing my colleagues at work, and they too, found it comical.”

In one picture, a very guilty-looking Kai is spotted looking away from the camera, as he munches his way through the large treat placed in front of him.

Another one shows him being caught in the act with the empty box and crumbs all over his face.

Luckily, it wasn’t his step-sister’s ‘official’ birthday cake, so the parents were able to hide the cheeky incident.

Tanisha added: “This was the birthday cake we had got for her – her mum had another one.

“We didn’t end up replacing the cake in the end, we just didn’t tell her what had happened.”
