A lioness has been shot dead after escaping from an animal farm.
The female lion broke free from its cage leading to the owner raising the alarm.
The big cat, named Sasoonee, is believed to have escaped through the back door of the farm, which was allegedly left open.
The following emergency search involved over 100 people, including police, firefighters and hunters alike.
Nearby campers were evacuated while officials attempted to locate the lioness.

It is unknown whether a tranquiliser dart was first used to attempt to capture Sasoonee alive.
No injuries were reported and it’s believed no one was attacked by the animal.
The farm, in Gyengbulk, South Korea, designed for tourists, was allegedly licensed to raise cattle only.
No other lions were found on the property.
Local officials claim the lioness was raised illegally, with local residents unaware of Sasoonee’s existence, reported the Korea Times.
