Story from Jam Press (Crane Hotel) Pictured: Outside the converted crane hotel. Sleep 165ft in the air inside a converted CRANE with original features – complete with a spa pool and Prosecco breakfast You can now reach a height like no other and spend the night in a functional crane – 165ft up in the air. Complete with a Prosecco breakfast in bed, private boat rides and a helicopter sightseeing tour, this romantic getaway offers luxury and an unrivalled view. Sleeping two people, the unique hotel features three different suites. Situated in the centre of Amsterdam, the crane will give you a stunning view of the city's skyline and the River IJ. One of the rooms, dubbed the Free Spirit Suite overlooks the river while you soak up the suds in the large bath or relax in the rain shower. Split over two levels, there is also a queen size bed, two plasma TV screens and access to the onsite spa pool. Meanwhile, the Secret Suite can be found in the former machinery room; it’s a secluded “love nest”, filled with plush furniture in what was once the driver's cabin of the crane. Finally, the Mystique Suite is decorated in black and gold across two floors. Venturing to the open-top deck, guests can enjoy a dip in the heated spa pool or simply soak up the scenery in the panoramic lounge. The crane was lovingly restored in 2016 after many years of service on ports across the country. From £934 a night, the hotel sits just eight miles from Schipol Airport, with easy access to everything the city has to offer.
