Baked beans have been grown in Britain for the very first time, thanks to boffins.
Tins of the much loved staple are made using haricots and tomato sauce.
The beans have always been imported due to the poor climate in Blighty.

But after 12 years, experts have now changed that to create versions of the beans that can be grow in the UK.
It means Full English Breakfasts can have British baked beans in them.
And the lunchtime classic of Beans on Toast will also be homegrown.
Brits consume two million tins of baked beans a day.
The breakthrough crop was the work of farmer Andrew Ward, of Leadenham, Lincolnshire and scientists from the University of Warwick.

Growing haricot beans on a commercial scale in the UK would reduce food miles and the UK’s reliance on imported beans.
Half of the crop will be tinned and half be used as seeds next year.
The new variety – named the Capulet – took 12 years to develop.
A smaller-scale trial last year had failed due to the summer heatwave.
Brit baked beans could now be on supermarket shelves within two years.
Andrew said: “It’s the first commercial-scale planting of a variety of haricot beans that could end up in a can on everybody’s supper table.

“At the moment we don’t have any beans that are grown here that are suitable for baked beans, our climate isn’t right for producing this type of bean.”
In addition to the classic baked bean The University of Warwick’s Crop Centre has bred two other varieties adapted for growing in the UK.
One is a blonde variety of beans that has been named Godiva.
The other is a black bean named Olivia – named after a character from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
Professor Eric Holub, from the University of Warwick, said: “Ensuring we can produce our own food is crucial in lessening our impact on the planet.
“British-grown beans can play a big part in shaping a healthier future for all of us.
“They’re a fantastic addition to our diets and contribute to the rise of flexitarian eating habits.”
