A mum was left in hysterics after her Vinted parcel arrived – in a plastic food takeaway container.
Sophie Jenkins, 30, had ordered a dress for her four-year-old daughter, Elsie, but had a surprise when it arrived in the rather unconventional box.
She shared the “fail” on TikTok, where it garnered 129,000 views and thousands of likes – and left users wondering whether it was “crazy or genius”.
“Having bought a lot of things of Vinted in the past I was expecting a bag of envelopes,” Sophie, an administrative assistant, told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
“It was both shocking and hilarious when they pulled out a Tupperware box filled with my daughter’s dress!”
In the video, she holds up the parcel – a “Chinese takeaway box” filled with the dress, with the delivery label stuck on top.
One person commented: “This is fab lol I’ve had plenty deliveries in binbags very thin ones.”
“Oh my god hahahahaha I love this,” said another viewer. [sic]
“Waterproof I suppose,” one user pointed out.
“What a brilliant idea,” said another fan, to which Sophie replied: “Not sure if it’s crazy or genius!”
“Very resourceful if you ask me,” another user added.
Someone else joked: “I’m safe… there ain’t no way in hell they’d manage to fit a dress in my size in anything other than a KFC family bucket.”
Another person added: “I feel like it’s okay to send things in anything from VINTED.”
Other viewers shared their own experiences.
One person commented: “I had a dress delivered in a Greggs sausage roll paper bag.”
“I had a pair off leggins posted in a pasta bag once,” another user said. [sic]
Someone else added: “Quavers multipack was my fav so far.”
“Not me but when I was dropping a parcel off I seen someone had posted something in an Old El Paso burrito box,” said another viewer.
