A hero risked his life to save a young woman and her pet pooch from their burning flat.

A man in the flat below chooses not to evacuate and, instead, balances precariously on his windowsill.
The woman in the apartment above leans out of her window dangerously as she passes him her pet dog.
The man carefully collects the pooch and releases it into the safety of his flat.
He then faces a tricker task as he helps the woman escape the inferno.
He secures her foot as she places one leg over her windowsill.
He then uses all his strength to steady her as she climbs out of the building.
As she grabs onto her windowsill with her hands, the man keeps his cool as he secures her by the thighs.
After a few tense seconds, the woman bravely lets go as the man pulls her into his flat in Bogotá, Colombia.
It is not clear if she sustained any injuries as she was bundled to safety.
One local, named Hugo, said: “A hero.”
