A man had a lucky escape when he got off his motorbike seconds before it was crushed by a lorry’s heavy load.
A CCTV camera caught the biker’s near miss at a shop.
It shows how he reversed his motorcycle on the roadside and walked into a minimarket as an HGV trundled down the road.
As the truck passed the motorbike, it ground to a halt and began to tilt dangerously towards the parked vehicle.
The heavy load then came crashing down onto the roadside and pavement, just as the unsuspecting man was safely inside the store.
His bike was squashed and an empty table outside a bar next door was also crushed.
Tons of rubble spilled from the lorry container onto the spot where the man had been standing seconds earlier.
The near miss happened on the road between São Bento do Una and Capoeiras, west of Recife, Brazil.
According to witnesses, the lorry load toppled because there was a slope in the tarmac.
No one was injured in the accident.
The lorry and its spilled cargo were removed from the scene.
Local Elizah commented: “He was born again.”
It is not clear if the authorities plan to level the road to prevent further accidents.
