A mum-of-two influencer has opened up about her heartbreaking struggle with multiple sclerosis.
María Pombo first went in for tests in 2020 after experiencing physical struggles.
She was diagnosed with MS while pregnant with her first child.
MS is a disease of the nervous system that gradually makes a person weaker and sometimes affects their sight or speech.
María, 29, said at the time: “The test results didn’t turn out the way I hoped, although I was actually expecting it. I do indeed have multiple sclerosis.

“I’m starting treatment next week with something safe for the baby, and once I give birth, they’ll figure out the best course of treatment.”
Over the last four years, María, from Madrid, Spain, learnt to live with the disease and she doesn’t let it hold her back.
She has had a second child since the diagnosis.
After a period of silence on the topic, María recently opened up about life with the disease.
After doing an ‘ask me anything’ on Instagram, one of her fans asked her how she was coping with the condition.
The influencer, who is married to architect and entrepreneur Pablo Castellano, replied: “Thank you for asking.

“I’m doing very well. It’s something I think about every day.
“Sometimes it weighs on me a bit more, and sometimes it doesn’t bother me at all, but it’s present.
“For example, there are times, like now, when I’ve had four days where my left side feels heavier, I notice it more.
“I feel like I have less strength. It’s not that I have less strength, but I feel like it’s more challenging.”
She went on: “The situation is a bit strange because what I notice is that I have one arm and one leg.

“But, no relapse whatsoever. I feel full of vitality, energy, strength, and very fortunate.”
María – who has 3.2 million Instagram followers is not the only MS sufferer in her family.
Her mum was diagnosed with the disease in 2000 and she and her sisters Marta and Lucía, who are also influencers, have grown up knowing how it holds her back.
María writes in her Insta bio: “Never ever compare your happiness, your body, your relationships, or your life goals with anyone.”
