In a surprising turn of events amid the cost of living crisis, a London eatery is offering scrambled eggs and toast for an astonishing £58 per serving.
Additionally, patrons can opt for a glass of orange juice for an extra £9. This extravagant meal is available at Hide restaurant located in Mayfair.
Despite its prestigious Michelin-star status, diners have expressed varied opinions regarding the exorbitant pricing of this dish.

The breakfast item gained attention on social media when it was priced at £32 back in 2023.
However, diners will now need to shell out even more for the truffled scrambled eggs and toast, starting at a minimum of £36 per serving. Opting for white truffle will escalate the cost to £58.

One patron characterized the meal as “basic.”
Another individual expressed, “Simply adding truffle to bread doesn’t automatically elevate one to the status of a chef. The pricing was exceptionally high without any apparent justification.”

Another critic remarked that the meal was “tasteless” and she “couldn’t even smell [the truffle].” She further commented, “No amount of shaved truffles can make up for the fact that this toast is £32 each.”
Despite the steep price, some diners were impressed by the breakfast dish. One guest described it as a “must-try.”
Another individual concurred, stating, “Food on the pricey side, but you pay for the experience.”
